| "This painting was done in the High Desert east of Crowley Lake in September 2005 on an extended desert camping trip. The sunrise was astounding as it hit the eastern flank of the Sierra Nevada. While the desert stayed in a deep, rosy shadow, I painted quickly. The sun finally hit the flat sageland with a stark white glow, losing the deep rose hue." | |
